CommunityWorks has a network of 27 nonprofit organizations that provide services in all 55 counties in West Virginia. They provide a wide range of housing needs transitional housing for homeless and domestic violence victims; to management of rental housing both multi-family and single-family rental units, and when necessary they have developed both rental housing and single-family subdivisions. Some are mortgage brokers or lenders, who originate all types of loan products; others have developed LIHTC rental units. They serve clients with some of the lowest incomes and worst housing conditions in West Virginia. Of the 27 members, 6 members are HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agencies and many of their staff has obtained Homeownership and Community Lending Certification through the NeighborWorks Training Institute.
